I have uploaded my shiny WordPress theme H2.0. It’s based on Hemingway and features moo.fx visuals (currently in the comments view only), whiz-bang CSS tricks, gradients & transparency, etc…
Please report any bugs you may find by leaving a comment!
In other news, Suzanne and Andrea have arrived safely. More on that later, once they get over jet-lag.
can I download you theme H2.0?
Sure why not. Here’s a zip archive of the theme as of today.
great!
your theme is pretty cool.
Today I make some tests here:

take a look
I have to change some styles becouse I think that I need more contrast betwen background and font, I will make it this weekend.
I’cant make run Flickr Photos, I download and activate the plugin flickrRSS but don’t run.
I will tell you when I finish the modification and when translate the theme to spanish. Thanks!
Great theme! any chance of implementing widget support?
why not… I want to experiment with alternate colors first, though. If you use the theme, please maintain a link back to this blog. thanks for your support!
Hi, I’m using h2o for my blog and I really love what you’ve done with the Hemingway theme, thanks so much for sharing.
I downloaded my copy from the link above. At the moment it has basic blocks installed, but I’d like to get things like latest comments and use other widgets. Any idea how I can implement those?
Thanks so much.
Best wishes from London
Andrew
Great post!!
Thank you
but I want 4 posts show up on the homepage.
there is some errors
can you fix it.
thank you very much
A sharp theme! I especially like what you did with the comments field. Any chance you can release the effect as a standalone plug-in? I think it would be extremely popular.
@denten : thanks for the compliment
I doubt the comment-hiding thing can be implemented as a plug-in, because it is heavily linked to the layout. If you want to try and do it yourself for your theme, check my source and http://moofx.mad4milk.net/ for the animation library.
Is there any chance that you could release the CSS and DIV code for the awesome footer? I have tried to develop one of these for another static site, but as yet have not been able to get one that works across IE as well… what’s your secret??
For the fixed footer, just view source and http://gaarf.info/2006/10/23/internet-exploder-7/
Hi
I’ve just implemented your theme and I’ll start tweaking it later on this week.
One quick question – how do I remove your picture from the footer?
Tony: WHY would you want to take my picture out?
kidding… just edit #h2o-about in style.css
Thanks
One final question – how do I make links orange like the titles?
TW
Tony: there is a section labeled /* links within posts */
in style.css – just edit that to your liking.
Hi
I changed that but no joy. I love this theme, but it’s confusing having to use so many stylesheets. I know that Hemmingway’s fault not yours.
TW
I’m just curious, it says there’s 16 comments for this post but when I break out the comments list only the last 7 comments show followed by the comment box and then a bunch of blank space. There seems to be no way to view the previous comments either?!?!
Is this a bug?? I’m using Firefox 2.0 if that’s a factor??
Masey: I have noticed that on occasion too. It only happens to me on first launch of a browser, subsequent reloads of the page show all the comments. I have honestly no idea why this happens! Suggestions welcome, everyone…
Hi
I’m doing some work on this theme. One problem I’m having is getting the the secondary info to show on the right and the post on the left in the ‘single post’. I can swap them, but the spacing is all messed up.
Can you help a bit with the CSS please or provide some pointers?
Thanks
TW
Tony: that would be a PITA I suppose, given how the original Hemingway is done… But you want to look in hemingway019.css at the section labelled /* Single Post Styles */
Good luck! And give us a link to your mod!
Ad, I’m commencing a hard core redesign of my Blog this week consisting of a MOD of H20 so be warned there may be a lot of questions coming your way in the next few weeks.
First one I have relates to your FlickrRSS plugin. When I added the same plugin, I got the little link icons that appear to the right of all text links in each entry, next to the Flickr icons which spoils everything spatially. I notice you have those icons removed somehow.
Is it a quick fix?
Masey: why don’t you try to catch me on IM if you have a bunch of question, I’ll help if I can. Check your email.
For the link icons, they are set by CSS, so they can be removed by CSS.
Do you have a current version of your theme that I can download? I didn’t know if you had made any changes since you first made it available to download.
BTW, one heck of a theme!
the latest file is currently linked to from http://gaarf.info/2006/12/02/updated-h20-theme-archive/
Thanks for your quick response. I’ll leave response to it over at the other link. Thanks again
Hey,
I installed H2o and this happens:
http://edwould.co.uk/images/h2ohelp.jpg
do you know why?
Ed
Ed: open style.css in your favorite text editor, do some minor change, and make sure you save it in unix format. See the comments on http://gaarf.info/2006/12/02/updated-h20-theme-archive/ for more details.
