Reno / Tahoe

On y retournera!

OMFG – new car

I know I have not been posting much lately. Things have been hectic at work, and I don’t want to bore the few readers that I have with more musings about life in Silicon Valley. No, the only important thing to talk about here is me, my friends, and my impulsive purchases. So… What’s been going on?

I have had much back pain. Anne has arrived a month ago, and that obviously should be addressed in a whole category of posts. Christophe and Erika were here visiting last week, they rented a yellow Mustang convertible and are probably somewhere between Vegas and Tahoe at this point.

What else… Oh, right! My own convertible, “Clicky”, will be moving on to its next owner. I still can hardly believe it, but I just bought a brand spanking new car! Let’s see if anybody can figure out the make and model just from looking at the pic.

more – I promise, and we all know what that means – later.

Redwoods Round Trip

From the Redwoods and back…

Saturday: From San Jose, via the Golden Gate, a first run to the north – including a little scare driving on the car’s gas reserve through the woods at night with a clueless GPS. Also, we stopped at a rest area that I had already visited some six years ago. Night at the Best Western in Humboldt’s Garberville, very nice. Sunday we drove through the Avenue of the Giants, walked among plenty of massive trees, then pushed all the way to Eureka and bought Benjamin some new shoes.

A little backtrack on the 101 and we turned to the very windy US 1, across the hill to the coast and south to Fort Bragg for a night at Super 8 Motel. This morning, more US 1, all the way to Bodega Bay‘s Tides restaurant – where Hitchcock shot The Birds – for delicious sea food.

What a great road trip!

Redwoods road trip!
